WHAT’S ON OFFER?
We offer unique opportunities for Autistic people to socialise, gain skills and receive support in order to improve their well-being.
Parental Support Group
This wonderful support group held in Simon and Kate’s lovely home was just what I needed when my son who was going through a diagnosis of Asperger’s, and also in supporting us through the EHCP process.”
“It provides a fantastic opportunity to meet other like minded people in an informal setting to chat, cry, offer words of wisdom, listen to inspiring speakers and generally be there for each other.”
Parent
Our Parents Support Group meets regularly and provides time to share experiences. Sometimes we invite an expert to attend to tell us about their area of expertise.
When you are struggling in the playground, in playgroups, in your family and around people with neurotypical children who maybe try and understand but cant truly know what you are going through, this group provides a perfect setting to offload and just hang out with people who do get it and who can help.”

18+ Social Group
I was worried but now it helps me learn how to talk to people. Before I wouldn’t have talked to anybody ever, even about railways – even mum.”
Regular Attendee
Our social groups for those 18 years and over are now running in person again.
I was anxious it would be like a school environment, I was very relieved this wasn’t the case. I am not treated like a child but I still feel safe and supported, I have met many friends here and it’s also wonderful to hang out with current friends.”

“Even though my son has only been involved with Sky Autism Group for a few months, his confidence has grown so much. I know this is because of the very understanding and caring leaders who create such a calm, unpressurised and supportive environment where my son feels comfortable and welcome.”

10-17’s Social Group
Our 10-17’s social group currently meet in-person on Tuesday evenings.
“SKY is a wonderful and unusual organisation in that it offers support to the autistic individual as well as the family itself. By offering a youth club for the under 16 year olds, an adult club and a parental support group, all areas are covered, which as a parent brings me comfort.”
“I have a 15 year old daughter who attends the under 16 years youth club. She struggles with independence, so the fact that she looks forward to going and is happy to stay there without a parent, is a brilliant step in the right direction. The leaders are so caring and treat each child with respect and understanding, which is often what these children need.”
“With the encouragement and help they gain with social skills and mixing with other children on the spectrum, the children grow in confidence. I am hugely grateful to SKY and feel blessed that an organisation like this exists in my local area.”

“Our son loves attending the group. The Youth Workers are welcoming, accepting and always create a fun atmosphere. The games and activities help to engage the young people which helps enormously with social skills and building friendships.
Knowing that our son has access to a safe and nurturing environment where he can engage with other young people, coupled with careful guidance from all the Youth Workers makes us as parents feel very happy.”
