! GoApe-ril Trip 2024 !

24th April 2024

Our attendees, parents, and staff had such a great time at Go Ape last weekend!

Here are a few glimpses into the adventures that took place. Members from our youth and adults group joined together for this fun-filled occasion! We are so pleased with how much the attendees enjoyed themselves and for how much they stepped out of their comfort zones to do something they might not usually do.

Thank you to everyone who helped the event happen! All of us at SKY truly appreciate all you do ?

Christina W seemed to make a gorilla friend in the woods!

Christina heads up our 18+ group and does a great job! Here’s some reflections from her of the day:

… We witnessed great courage and support by our group to others who were nervous.  This included those who pushed themselves well and truly out of their comfort zones and had to stop sooner than they’d have liked but with a great deal to be proud of.  Some of our parents stepped up and filled gaps despite the terrifying prospect.  I heard zero screaming from our group – actually, the gasps came from those watching! …

Three of our staff team eating lunch together. They had a great time watching everyone get involved!

If you or someone you know has autism, or are going through a diagnosis and you/they would be interested in opportunities like this, please email ruth@skyautismsupport.com to find out more about how SKY may be able to give support.

Blessings,

SKY Autism Support.

Our dream is to develop a community that will continue to support Autistic people when their families are no longer able.

Through our work we want to see Autistic people and their families grow in confidence through accessing autism-specific support. They will gain relationships, skills and opportunities to help their lives. We want the futures of Autistic people to be full of hope.
